I looked at a few machines the local dealer had like Clausing and Sharp which are both nice but the Lagun he had really looked like it was more refined.

I've had a Kent 2-axis 5 hp cnc mill since 2002. It was made in 2000 in Tiawan. It has been an excellent machine. Kent has a facility in Calif. They have always been very helpful with parts and info.
To my knowledge, BP hasn't been made stateside for a few years with the exeption of parts and service. We have a 96' VMC that was made in the US and a newer (06'?) one that was made entirely in Taiwan. I have to say it's held up well though. Our manual mills are from 41', 58', 59', 60', and 70's(?).
